An orientation and information program was organized with wide participation for students newly enrolled in our Vocational School for the 2026-2027 Academic Year.
In line with the instructions of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and our Rectorate; along with general orientation processes, critical issues such as combating illegal online gambling, betting, and games of chance, cybersecurity, anti-addiction efforts, and academic/administrative procedures were addressed in detail.
To ensure our students experience a safe academic period and to raise their awareness, expert personnel from the Tokat Provincial Police Department were hosted at our Vocational School:
Cyber Crimes Department: Expert personnel provided training on the legal and personal risks associated with illegal online betting, games of chance, and unlawful gambling. Heavy legal and criminal liabilities arising from renting out or allowing others to use bank accounts/IBAN information (Qualified Fraud under Turkish Penal Code Art. 158) in exchange for promises of "easy money" on social media were especially highlighted.
Anti-Narcotic Crimes Department: Experts from the Tokat Provincial Police Department Anti-Narcotic Crimes Division delivered informative presentations regarding prevention strategies against addictive substances and environmental risk factors.
Counter-Terrorism Department: Police personnel shared security awareness insights to ensure students pursue their education in a peaceful and secure campus environment.
On the opening day of the program, following the opening address by Lecturer İsmail KÜÇÜKALİ, Lecturer Ali ÇİÇEK delivered presentations introducing our Vocational School along with Zero Waste and Environmental Awareness topics, followed by a city tour organized for the students.
Within the scope of the orientation schedule, faculty members across all departments in our Vocational School (Computer Programming, Banking and Insurance, Office Technologies and Data Management, Food Technology, Architectural Restoration, Land Registry and Cadastre, Logistics) met with students in their respective classrooms and delivered briefings on the following topics:
Student Information System (OBS) usage and course registration procedures,
