In line with its mission of serving society and promoting social responsibility, Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Zile Vocational School has announced four major social responsibility projects to be implemented in 2026. Designed for different target groups, these projects aim to improve the quality of life of the people of Zile and the surrounding rural communities while strengthening the University's engagement with society.
This project aims to introduce Zile's rich historical and cultural heritage to younger generations while fostering intergenerational communication. University students will meet with elderly community members to exchange knowledge and experiences on topics such as the Ahi (Ahilik) tradition, local history, and traditional handicrafts. Historic sites and mosque courtyards will serve as natural gathering places, creating meaningful opportunities for cultural dialogue and the preservation of local heritage.
The project seeks to raise awareness of the proper and hygienic use of kitchen utensils in rural households. Students from the Food Technology Program will visit selected pilot villages to provide practical training on the safe use of plastic, wooden, and non-stick (Teflon) kitchen utensils, highlighting potential health risks associated with improper usage. The project aims to reduce the risk of foodborne illnesses and promote healthier food preparation practices.
This initiative is designed to encourage the social participation of women living in rural areas, strengthen their self-confidence, and support the transfer of their traditional knowledge and skills to younger generations. University students will organize workshops and cultural exchange activities on topics such as personal care, handicrafts, and traditional cuisine. The project aims to build meaningful intergenerational connections and strengthen mutual understanding between young people and rural women.
This project aims to help high school students develop awareness of bullying and build resilience against it. Through a peer mentoring approach, university students will organize interactive training sessions addressing physical, verbal, and cyberbullying. The project seeks to promote empathy, respect, and the development of a safe and inclusive school environment.
Through these four projects, Zile Vocational School aims not only to enhance its students' sense of social responsibility but also to contribute to the well-being of the local community. By bringing these initiatives to life, the School seeks to strengthen university–community collaboration, encourage active civic engagement, and foster a stronger culture of social solidarity and shared responsibility.
